Share some interesting facts about ship. Ship uses waterways to travel. Ship is the slowest mode of transport. It sails only in the ocean and sea. There are many types of ship. A boat is also used for travelling in the water. Ship runs on fuel like other vehicles.

The ocean is so vast. They use compass to follow a route or direction in the sea. Ship is mainly used for transporting goods from one place to another. What kind of goods? It could be gas, oil, cars, any kind of goods. Ships have stations too where they stop. What it is called? It is called a harbor port.
Different types of Ships are used for different purpose. Let us see the different types of ship and boats.

Means of Transport
The main difference between ship and boat is that boat is smaller in size as compared to ship. A ship can carry a boat but a boat cannot carry a ship. Who drives the ship? A ship is sailed by a sailor. The captain is in charge of the ship on a voyage. It takes days and days and sometimes months to travel from one place to another. So now all of you are aware how ship looks like.
Let us sing a rhyme song about Ship.
"Dip Dip Dip , my Blue Ship
Sailing in the water
Like a cup and saucer
Dip Dip Dip, my Blue Ship."

Repeat again if required. You can also choose to sing another rhyme.

How about a story on a boat journey?
The teacher can tell the below story with the help of stick puppets in the classroom.

Activity for Means of Transport
Yarn Ship
Art and Craft Ship

Materials Required: Yarn, Stencil cut out of Ship on construction paper, glue
Method: This is a very simple activity to do it class. This can also be done with colorful strips of construction paper instead of the Yarn. I like yarn, so I used it in this activity.
To do this activity, the teacher needs to prepare a stencil of ship which is cut inside out. Take another construction paper and mark the shape of the ship. Instruct the children to use glue and place the strips of yarn of different colors on the base construction paper where the ship is marked. Keep guiding the children wherever needed. Paste all the strips of yarn until the marked ship is covered. Now take the stencil cutout and paste it on the base construction paper. Colorful yarn ship is now ready. Help and guide the students wherever necessary.
